The most-liked video on TikTok is ten seconds of a face moving to a Blackpool grime track.

The story

What this was

Bella Poarch, filmed from the chin up, bobs her head and mouths along to Millie B's "M to the B" — a 2019 diss track from Blackpool, England — pulling a sequence of exaggerated expressions. It lasts under ten seconds and nothing else happens in it. Posted in August 2020, it became the most-liked video on the platform.

It first appeared in 2020, during short-form and streams. A surviving copy is on YouTube.

It is the definitive artefact of what TikTok rewarded in 2020: no premise, no punchline, no production, and total watchability on a loop. It also carried a British regional grime record to a worldwide audience that had no idea what Blackpool was, which is a route to global distribution no record label could have designed.

Poarch signed with Warner Records within a year and released charting singles, becoming one of the first creators to convert a single short video into a recording career. Millie B's track found an audience years after release. The video remains the most-liked on TikTok.
