What this wasThe story
Facing a US TikTok shutdown in January 2025, users moved to Xiaohongshu — RedNote — and found themselves in conversation with Chinese users, who asked them for a 'cat tax' before answering questions.
It is the only recent case of a mass, deliberate, friendly migration between two national internets, and for a few weeks produced the sort of direct contact that platform design normally prevents.
The hashtag carried tens of millions of posts. Coverage on both sides treated it as an accidental diplomatic event.

Where this survivesStill there
The same thing, held on another platform. Each link says what that copy is; none of them is claimed to be the original, and Share above stays with ViralWorld either way.
