Evolution of Dance
You might remember it as Judson Laipply evolution of dance
- SourceLikely original upload
- MediaPlayable from the source
The most-viewed video on YouTube for three and a half years, and a stage routine that predates the site.
What this was
Judson Laipply performs six minutes of dance styles in sequence, under a spotlight, to a medley running from the 1950s to the 2000s, changing move and era every few bars.
It first appeared in 2006, during early YouTube. A surviving copy is on YouTube.
It was already a closing routine from his speaking work, performed live in 2003 and filmed, rather than anything made for the internet. It held the most-viewed position from May 2006 to October 2009 across three separate stretches, and his channel was for a while the most subscribed on the site.
It has been a Jeopardy! clue and a Tonight Show parody, and Laipply has continued to speak and perform.
