Look at all those chickens

A child's astonishment at a field of chickens, delivered with total sincerity, and quoted for a decade.

You might remember it as chicken girl Vine

The story

What this was

It first appeared in 2014, during the social era.

It is the purest example of the Vine form's strangest capability: six seconds with no joke in them, made funny entirely by the gap between the speaker's wonder and the ordinariness of what she is looking at. Paste placed it seventh in its farewell ranking of the platform, and the line remains in circulation as a reply to any large quantity of anything.

The account it was posted from was named for the phrase, and neither the girl nor the poster has ever been publicly identified in reporting this archive could find — which is itself typical of Vine, where a great many of the most-quoted clips have no known author.
